The Parking Attendant is a part-time, on-call, event-based position. Under the direct supervision of the Parking Manager and/or Parking Coordinator, the attendant is responsible for collecting payments for garage access, assisting with pay stations, directing vehicles, and maintaining garage operations at the Broward County Convention Center. The role also serves as a liaison between the facility and clients, ensuring client requirements are met and that all facility rules, regulations, and policies are followed. Essential duties include processing credit card transactions for parking fees, completing reports related to reconciliation of transactions, answering questions about parking options, directing traffic, providing excellent customer service, maintaining supplies and equipment, setting up designated parking areas, and other assigned duties. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, minimum one year of customer service experience, and preferred experience in convention centers or similar settings. Skills required include experience with payment devices, strong communication and problem-solving skills, flexibility, ability to work under pressure, and basic computer proficiency. The position requires physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, sit, stand, walk for extended periods, and lift up to 20 pounds. The job is on-site at the Broward County Convention Center and requires availability for irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
