Job Description

Title: HVAC Service Building Automation Technician

Location: Vancouver, WA

Onsite 3 -4 days, in office 1-2 days

Base Salary (based on experience):

  • $65-$95k for level 1
  • $100-$115k for level 2

Job Description:

This person is responsible for maintaining the HVAC Controls systems for a variety of industrial/commercial clientele. They will collaborate with the project team and engineers to ensure the projects meet schedules and deadlines.

Must Have:

  • 2+ Years of hands-on Mechanical Engineer experience within HVAC Controls and Building Automation Systems Service projects
  • Strong familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards
  • Knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems (Hot water systems, Chillers, split systems, heat pumps, etc.)

Plusses:

  • Proficient in Niagara , Distech , or Reliable Controls
  • BS in Construction Management or Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license

Day to Day:

  • Maintenance work/maintaining controls systems
  • Participate with engineering management in mentoring and training of engineers within team
  • Participate with engineering management in workload delegation and management
  • Review and quality control of team member's work
  • Complete project planning
  • Upselling when necessary
  • Review of code required energy compliance and LEED documentation performed by team
  • Review engineering calculations such as energy analysis, economic analysis, selection and layout of equipment, duct and piping system design performed by team
  • Review of applications engineering such as psychometrics, refrigeration, acoustics, and controls systems performed by team
  • Field engineering: assist with project execution, site surveys, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving, as required
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members
  • Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
