Description:
Job Summary: Provide safe transportation and operations of ambulances and other vehicles while abiding by all state laws. At times this may involve assisting MCES or other staff members with additional tasks as requested.

Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions. Ability to log and record information. Basic computer skills. Ability to follow safety, environmental, and/or infection control practices. Ability to lift heavy objects. Ability to interpret and follow paper based maps. Ability to utilize GPS devices to follow a route to and from a destination. Ability to safely operate large emergency vehicles at interstate speeds during poor weather conditions.

Physical and Environmental Demands:
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, constant travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, occasional sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking. (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more)
Education & Experience:
High school diploma/GED and completion of CAHEA or CAHEP EMT-paramedic program plus three (3) years of related pre-hospital experience.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration required:
valid driver's license, NR EMP (National Registered Paramedic), and MS Paramedic within 2 weeks of hire. Certifications in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support required. NIMS (FEMA ICS 100 and 700) preferred.
