Job Title: WelderJob Description

We are seeking a 1st shift MIG Welder to join our team and fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel for the construction industry. In this role, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, fitting, marking, placing, tacking, and MIG welding steel parts, including beams, trusses, columns, stairs, and handrails. Certification in GMAW (MIG) will be provided if not already certified, especially for welding on structural parts. You may also be required to operate CNC machines, plasma tables, assist in the paint/prime area, or work in the yard. Operating overhead cranes and forklifts may also be necessary. Candidates must have their own welding helmet and jacket.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints for welding projects.
• Fit, mark, place, tack, and MIG weld structural and miscellaneous steel parts.
• Operate CNC machines, plasma tables, and assist in paint/prime areas as needed.
• Utilize overhead cranes and forklifts in daily operations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

• MIG welding experience on steel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Team player and adaptable to various tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience.
• Overhead crane experience.
• CNC machine experience.

Work Environment

Work in a small, clean, and organized facility. The first month of employment will include training with working hours from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. After training, the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 6am to 4:30pm, with Saturdays from 6am to 11am as needed. The dress code requires personal protective equipment, including a welding helmet and jacket.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
