Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced 1st shift Welder with knowledge in MIG and TIG welding. This position requires several years of hands-on experience in welding, with a strong understanding of working with various materials such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and drawings to take or read measurements, planning layout and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
• Set up components for welding according to specifications under supervision.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts that must be welded.
• Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces securely.
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Handle moderate to heavy components frequently, involving walking or standing most of the time.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience or equivalent in MIG and TIG welding.
• Proven experience with welding on pipe and structural steel, including vacuum welding.
• Experience with a variety of welding equipment and procedures such as TIG and MIG.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of safety standards and a willingness to use protective clothing like face shields and gloves.
• Deftness and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.).
• Professional Certification such as an AWS welding certificate is a plus.
• Travel and possible overnight stays at customer sites may be required.

Work Environment

Work in a shop/manufacturing environment with a 1st shift schedule from 7am-3:30pm. The atmosphere is comfortable and clean, ensuring a pleasant and efficient working experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
