Job Description
Our client, a leading manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Powder Coat Painter to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining powder coating equipment to ensure high-quality finishes on metal components. Your primary duties will include applying powder coating to meet customer requirements, maintaining an even thickness and finish, and assisting with the loading and unloading of parts.
Job Title: Powder Coat Painter
Location: Clarence, NY
Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Shift: 5:30 am - 2:00 pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Determine the appropriate powder to apply based on job specifications and set up the powder coating equipment.
- Apply powder finish to parts using correct techniques and patterns.
- Clean machines, related equipment, and the work area between jobs.
- Assist with part masking, and address internal or external threads, or finish-free areas according to customer specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate with co-workers and supervisors to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
- Maintain the powder storage area in an organized manner.
- Help keep the paint line area clean and organized.
- Monitor scrap and rework and move pallets into the paint line to maintain clear aisles.
Non-Essential Duties: - Transfer newly received powder into the storage area.
- Empty waste powder hoppers as needed.
- Dispose of old powder properly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Powder Coating Theory: Understanding of the powder coating process, including electrostatics and related equipment. Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and quality issues.
- Powder Application: Proficiency in operating powder application equipment, including electrostatic guns, feed hoppers, and powder reclaim systems. Willingness to instruct others on proper coating techniques.
What's Needed? - High School Diploma or GED.
- 1 - 2 years of manufacturing experience; powder coating experience is desirable.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
