Staff Accountant Specializing In Payroll

ConGlobal is the industry-leading provider of intermodal rail terminal services, auto loading and unloading and container depot services. We're currently seeking a Staff Accountant specializing in payroll to join our team. The Staff Accountant specializing in payroll will be responsible for processing accurate and timely payroll for 3,300 ConGlobal employees across 11 different pay groups for five legal entities while ensuring the Accounting, HR and Benefits requests are handled appropriately.

Responsibilities

Staff Accountant

• Assist with the processing of payroll in Dayforce
• Verification of system calculated pay based on timecards and review of employee profile changes and applicable deductions
• Process manual checks as required in immediate pay states
• Monitor and maintain deductions for 1,100 union employees while completing remittances and assisting with data gathering for union audits
• Maintain payroll records and distribute reports to accounting and management
• Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts while addressing discrepancies
• Communication with employees and field leadership regarding payroll inquiries and concerns
• Deliver various ad-hoc reports as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 0-2 years payroll processing or accounting experience
• Understands requirements for documentation and support of workpapers and calculations
• Intermediate level- Word and Excel (data manipulation, validation, v-lookups, and pivot tables);
• Strong technical accounting skills and experience
• Must be able to work well under tight deadlines
• Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills are mandatory
• Ability to exercise critical thinking and solve problems
• Exudes a high degree of professionalism and treats others with respect
• Strong team player with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
