Mining Engineer
Description:

Main responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include the following:

Mine cost modeling
Constant improvement of mine cost models
Understand and be able to explain the underlying model principles
Real-world project estimating and analysis
Updating and improving published cost models
Content development
Insightful monthly delivery of Sherpa outputs, scenarios and features
Short and medium length Insights
Event driven and original themes
Commercial tasks: Work with existing clients with their queries and perform tutorials
Support new business development of new clients
Solicit feedback on potential model improvements

Requirements:

Minimum Skills / Qualifications:

Experience in a mining or geology field, including industry analysis
Undergraduate degree in a technical mining field
Entrepreneurial mind set and a self-starter attitude
Willingness to try new approaches in an unstructured environment
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills
Excellent data skills and attention to detail
Strong writing and interpersonal skills
Experience with either surface or underground mining in particular is a must
