Job Description

Position Overview
Securify is seeking a skilled and motivated Low-Voltage Technician to join our high-performing Installation Department. This hands-on position is ideal for a professional who thrives on variety, technical challenge, and collaborative problem-solving in the field. The Low-Voltage Technician will be responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of a broad range of cabling and low-voltage systems—working on everything from structured cabling and fiber to advanced security, access control, A/V, and wireless solutions.

Candidates should be resourceful self-starters who take pride in quality craftsmanship, communicate clearly, and are eager to continuously learn and contribute to Securify’s team culture. Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as project needs arise are important in this field-based role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, dress, and label CAT 5/6, coaxial, and fiber cables, including patch panels, IDF/MDF builds, and raceway installations.

  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot security cameras (IP/analog), access control (card readers, mag locks, strikes), alarms, sensors, and intercoms.

  • Perform structured cabling, DAS, AV equipment installs (TVs, speakers), and access point integration in commercial, industrial, and public environments.

  • Conduct thorough system testing, punch list corrections, and preventive maintenance on all installed systems prior to commissioning and handoff to the Service team.

  • Complete project close-out procedures, including cable labeling, visual inspections, and basic documentation of systems for long-term reliability.

  • Operate lifts and equipment safely; follow all site safety protocols, PPE, and Securify policies.

  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and scope of work documents, and complete accurate project documentation.

Requirements & Preferences

Required

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience installing, terminating, and servicing low-voltage systems (cabling, security, access, AV, or related).

  • Ability to independently terminate, test, and troubleshoot CAT 5/6, coax, copper, and fiber.

  • Proficient with installation/setup of cameras, access controls, mag locks, door contacts, and AV equipment (Lenel, HID, Crestron, Axis, etc.).

  • Basic familiarity with cable labeling standards, rack building, and reading construction prints.

  • Knowledge of relevant building/electrical codes, safety practices, and PPE protocols.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, in crawlspaces, and at height as needed.

  • Reliable transportation to client sites within the Bay Area.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean background check required.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Additional experience with DAS, PIM and sweep testing, fire alarm devices, network switch installs, and field service/ticket work.

  • Ability to perform basic programming/configuration of devices, similar to service technicians.

  • Previous commercial or public sector project experience (schools, city halls, police, enterprise campuses).

  • Certifications (BICSI, ETA, manufacturer-specific) are a plus.

  • Proficiency in Asana project management software or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, and crouch for prolonged periods, sometimes in tight or elevated spaces.

  • Ability to lift and carry materials/equipment up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Use of hands and hand tools for wiring and precise work.

  • Comfortable working on rooftops, scaffolding, or at height with lifts and ladders in all weather.

  • Visual and auditory acuity for detailed tasks and safe communication.

  • Willingness to wear and maintain proper PPE at all times.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, evenings, or weekends as project needs dictate.

  • Reliable transportation to various job sites within the service area.

Work Location

  • In-person position based in Mountain View, CA, with frequent travel to project/job sites in the Bay Area as required.

  • Reliable personal transportation is necessary for punctual attendance at the office and sites.

Cultural Fit

At Securify, we believe team culture is as important as technical skill. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Values safety, reliability, and pride in workmanship on every project.

  • Collaborates with respect and communicates clearly with colleagues and clients, contributing to a supportive and solution-oriented team environment.

  • Keeps calm under pressure and is skilled at diffusing conflict or tension, rather than escalating it—focusing on problem solving, maintaining professionalism, and helping the team regroup after setbacks or disagreements.

  • Embraces diversity and supports an inclusive workplace where every team member is respected and welcomed.

  • Is highly organized, punctual, and able to balance multiple tasks or priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and work remains accurate and thorough.

  • Is eager to learn and adapt, whether sharing knowledge or picking up new skills, tech, or techniques.

  • Champions Securify’s core values: integrity, innovation, collaboration, reliability, and respect in all interactions—internal and external.
