Job Description

We are partnering with a boutique insurance defense firm in Fort Lauderdale that is seeking a Legal Billing Specialist to join their growing team. Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and finalize client invoices in compliance with firm and client billing guidelines.
• Manage electronic billing (eBilling) submissions and monitor approvals.
• Ensure timely and regular communication regarding eBilling rejections with the appropriate internal team member.
• Monitor deduction notifications and forward them promptly to the correct internal contact.
• Handle adjustments, write-downs, and re-bills as necessary.
• Maintain accurate billing records and support attorneys with billing inquiries.
• Assist with accounts receivable tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure timely and accurate billing processes.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm environment (insurance defense experience a plus).
• Proficiency with electronic billing systems and law firm accounting software; experience with Clio strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet billing deadlines.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills with both internal staff and clients.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive base salary of $55,000 – $65,000, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
