Technical Trainer II
Job Purpose
The Technical Trainer II is responsible for teaching, developing technical curriculum, and facilitating technical courses for JET personnel. The Trainer assists in analyzing skills of current staff, and tracking new developments and training opportunities at this client. In addition, the trainer will be responsible for developing and maintaining relations with third-party vendors and assessing their course offerings.
Essential Job Responsibilities
•\tCoordinates technical training for this client’s IT department.
•\tDevelops new course curriculum (ILT and e-Learning) with emphasis on appropriateness to this client's IT models and platforms.
•\tTeaches and facilitates courses to JET personnel.
•\tLearns new technical languages and materials.
•\tOversees scheduling, registration, attendance and billing of courses.
•\tSchedules and maintains training facilities and supplies.
•\tCommunicates and negotiates price and content with potential training vendors.
Other Duties
•\tPerforms other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•\tStrong knowledge and experience with one or more of the following: o Instructional Design Methods (ADDIE/SAM) in developing strategic blended learning solutions (ILT & WBT). o ELearning design and development. o Microlearning development. o Adult education and knowledge of current research on the topic preferred. o Multiple programming languages, tools and technologies. o Various operating systems and environments.
•\tExcellent communication and presentation skills.
•\tStrong knowledge of software development processes and procedures.
•\tExcellent interpersonal skills.
•\tExpertise in a variety of training concepts, practices, and procedures.
•\tAbility to work with managers at various levels to recommend training solutions.
•\tAbility to reason and simplify complex processes.
•\tStrong knowledge of MS applications.
•\tStrong project management skills.
•\tAbility to travel between this client's various locations/offices as frequently as required to support training needs.
•\tAbility to collaborate effectively in a team environment to achieve desired results.
•\tAbility to work extended hours as needed.
Qualifications
•\tBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and/or education. required.
•\t5+ years of combined teaching and industry experience required.
•\t3+ years of experience designing and delivering technical training for adult learners required.
•\t3+ years of experience in designing e-learning required.
•\t3+ years of a combination of web, client-server, and mainframe programming knowledge preferred.
•\tUNIX and NT, Mainframe experience preferred.
•\tJAVA, C/C++, COBOL, SQL, experience preferred.
