The Role

We are seeking a compassionate, professional Funeral Director to join our team. This role provides guidance and care to families during times of loss, ensuring every service is carried out with dignity and excellence. The Funeral Director plans, coordinates, and directs funeral and memorial services while ensuring compliance with all legal and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with families to plan and arrange funeral, memorial, and burial services
  • Direct and oversee services from start to finish
  • Coordinate with clergy, celebrants, and other participants
  • Complete required documentation, including death certificates and permits
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Perform embalming, dressing, cosmetology, casketing, and transportation of decedents
  • Provide general care and maintenance of facilities and equipment
  • Represent O’Halloran & Murphy with professionalism and integrity in the community
  • May supervise designated functions or staff as assigned

Qualifications

  • Licensed Funeral Director in Minnesota, or ability to obtain licensure
  • Degree in Mortuary Science from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 3 years of licensed funeral director experience
  • Strong knowledge of funeral service practices and state regulations
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Excellent communication skills with compassion and empathy

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary starting at $65,000 annually, based on experience
