Job Description

The University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM), seeks a full-time MD/DO Family Medicine physician to join our rural practice in beautiful Old Town, Florida. This is a non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications. In this role, you will provide high-quality, team-based patient care while teaching UF medical students who rotate through the clinic. You'll also participate in educational activities such as conferences, seminars, and lectures. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact through clinical care, education, and mentorship in a supportive academic environment. This position is non-tenure accruing. The rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Full-time is strongly preferred; however, part-time may be considered depending on the clinic's needs and applicants.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive, full-time primary care services at UF Health Family Medicine Old Town Clinic.
  • Participate in clinic or inpatient call rotations.
  • Collaborate with and supervise Advanced Practice Providers (ARNPs/PAs) in a team-based care model.
  • Contribute to the overall clinical operations and faculty responsibilities as assigned.

Educational Responsibilities

  • Teach and mentor medical students during patient care activities and, where applicable, inpatient rounds.
  • Participate in departmental educational conferences and seminars.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and professional development, with mentorship and departmental support available for academic presentations and publications.

The primary mission of the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine is to serve our patients and community, positively shaping the future of healthcare through outstanding teaching, discovery, and innovation in family medicine.

The vision at CHFM is to be a nationally recognized model department of family medicine. CHFM integrates teaching in humanistic medicine, medical ethics, behavioral medicine, and rural and community health into both undergraduate and graduate curricula.
