We are looking for an experienced Estate Manager for an UHNW family in Pasadena. The family owns multiple properties throughout CA, but your main priority will be the Pasadena residence. This is a Mon-Fri role, but will require flexibility.

The client is looking for someone comfortable wearing multiple hats to manage all household operations, has a strong eye for detail, and is mechanically-inclined (i.e. someone who can talk to the electrician, understand the information, and relay it to the principal). This is a well-oiled machine and needs a highly qualified leader to maintain fluidity. The ideal candidate is a jack of all trades, has no ego and sees no job as too big or too small. The family is incredibly private/low-profile so discretion is crucial!

Day to day:

• Manage and oversee all household operations, projects and repairs
• Source multiple estimates from subcontractors
• Manage vehicle maintenance and records
• Manage domestic employees; handle any related scheduling & HR issues
• Facilitate vet care for dogs
• Coordinate holidays and other events hosted at home
• Review final invoices before submitting for approval
• Working with office team/accounts payables to ensure vendors are paid promptly

Requirements:

• Experience managing large properties (20k sqft+); multiple properties a plus
• 10-15 years related experience, preferably with multiple families
• Long tenures at previous roles
• Accustomed to daily communications with the principal
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Comfortable around dogs
• Must be energetic and physically fit
• Local candidates with a local rolodex is highly preferred
• Ability to be flexible and work overtime as needed or directed by principal
• Highly responsive, including after “typical” business hours

This is a fully-staffed residence with an Assistant Estate Manager, Houseman, Nanny, and 3 Full-Time Housekeepers. One of the Housekeepers has been with the family for 8-9 years and has followed them to Pasadena from Orange County. This type of loyalty only means that this is a great family to work for!
