Job Title: Director of Commercial

As Director of Commercial for Fairmont Olympic, you will oversee Sales, Marketing, and Events, including Budget/P&L, expense and revenue forecasting, advertising, marketing, developing, and writing business plans. You will attract, mentor, and retain top talent and manage ownership relations. Your strategic role will focus on maximizing the asset through an integrated Commercial approach and creating a long-term positioning roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee integrated commercial strategies to connect strategy and business processes across all revenue streams including Rooms, Catering, Parking, Retail, Offices, and Food & Beverage.
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategies to meet revenue goals and increase market share.
  • Produce the hotel's Annual Multi-Year Commercial Strategy Plan in collaboration with on-property leaders and regional support.
  • Align hotel performance needs with solutions from the Fairmont brand enterprise across key segments.
  • Ensure optimal pricing and rate strategies to maximize sales and revenue opportunities, including market segmentation and demand drivers.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Digital teams to build and manage hotel B2B marketing, digital marketing, social media, PR, and communications channels.
  • Track and analyze marketing campaign success and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Measure ROI of marketing initiatives and evaluate partnership opportunities.
  • Establish revenue forecasts, develop strategies for different demand periods, and approve pricing strategies.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Train and monitor sales and marketing teams, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of market activity and monitor hotel performance indicators to identify revenue opportunities.
  • Execute the Fairmont Sales Incentive Program.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain sales and marketing staff.
  • Build relationships with community groups, influencers, and travel partners.
  • Support sales travel into feeder markets.
  • Develop solutions to support hotel operations and brand programs.
  • Generate reports and analytics for sales platforms and programs.
  • Manage key vendor relationships and conduct training with global and regional sales teams.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in hotel sales, catering, or marketing.
  • Management experience as a Director.
  • Four-year college degree.
  • Leadership experience in a 4-star plus full-service hotel.
  • Ability to travel on short notice and adapt to schedule changes.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Critical analysis skills.

Visa Requirements: Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Additional preferred qualifications include advanced coursework in business administration, experience with business planning, and knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering Software.
