Join to apply for the Digital Forensic Examiner III role at City of New York . The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”), is seeking experienced Digital Forensic Examiners to perform forensic analyses, document findings, and testify in court. The Digital Forensics Laboratory supports the Bronx DA's Office by analyzing digital evidence from various devices and media, and is the first accredited Digital Forensics Laboratory in NYC. Job Responsibilities Guide junior personnel in data extraction and analysis techniques. Lead digital evidence retrieval and forensic examination during search warrants. Research on mobile devices, OS features, cloud storage, and advanced investigations involving cryptocurrency, malware, and IoT devices. Develop custom scripts (e.g., Python) for data analysis. Assist in updating lab policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Perform duties of Digital Forensic Examiner and Junior Examiner as needed, including data extraction, imaging, report writing, and court testimony. Minimum Qualifications Baccalaureate degree and four years of relevant full-time experience, or equivalent education and experience. Preferred Skills Master’s Degree in related fields and three years of digital forensic experience preferred. Experience with commercial forensic software (Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, Encase, etc.) and certifications (IACIS CFCE, SANS GCFA, etc.) preferred. Previous court testimony experience preferred. Strong knowledge of file systems, operating systems, and ability to work under pressure. The salary range is $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 annually. The position is full-time, mid-senior level, and in the government administration industry.
