Base pay range

$50.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Must Haves:

• 3+ years of proven experience within data security, cybersecurity, or IT security operations
• Strong experience using Microsoft Purview
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2
• Proficiency with SIEM, DLP, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools
• Experience working within Azure, AWS, or similar cloud security systems
• Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences

At top healthcare provider in Houston is seeking a Data Security Analyst to join their IT Security Operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining security measures to protect organizational data from unauthorized access, breaches, and cyber threats. Their day-to-day tasks include monitoring network traffic and system logs using tools like SIEM, DLP, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection to identify and assess threats. They conduct vulnerability assessments, respond to security incidents, and collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure a coordinated response. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, and SOC 2, and implementing data protection strategies like encryption and secure access controls. Additionally, they provide training and support to hospital staff on security best practices, develop security awareness programs, and stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for this role, along with a solid understanding of data security principles and cloud security best practices.
