Superintendent – K-12 & Higher Education Construction

📍 Houston, TX

Our client, a well-established General Contractor , is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee K-12 and higher education construction projects across Houston and surrounding areas. With a strong pipeline of ground-up and renovation projects for schools, universities, and educational facilities, they need a hands-on leader to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of K-12 and higher education construction projects , from pre-construction to closeout
• Supervise field operations , including subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel
• Ensure all work is completed on schedule, within budget, and meets quality standards
• Enforce strict safety protocols and regulatory compliance , including OSHA standards and school safety guidelines
• Coordinate with school administrators, faculty, and district officials to minimize disruptions and maintain a safe environment
• Oversee scheduling, material procurement, and subcontractor performance to ensure efficient workflow
• Conduct daily and weekly site meetings to track progress, address challenges, and keep stakeholders informed
• Ensure all permits, inspections, and regulatory approvals are completed on time
• Maintain detailed project documentation , including RFIs, change orders, and daily reports

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent managing K-12 and higher education construction projects
• Proven ability to manage both ground-up and renovation projects in active school environments
• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and educational facility construction requirements
• Excellent leadership and communication skills—able to work effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and project teams
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software
• Ability to oversee multiple trades and tight construction schedules
