Conflicts Analyst II - Intake Compliance (West Coast) role at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP

The Objective: The Conflicts Analyst II assists the Firm and its attorneys with compliance and risk management related to potential new business.

Location: This position could be based in any of our U.S. West Coast offices (Los Angeles; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; or Seattle) with consideration for 100% remote US locations if willing to work West Coast hours.

Base pay range: $61,000.00/yr - $103,000.00/yr

Responsibilities


  • Work closely with attorneys and other members of the New Business & Conflicts team to identify potential ethical and business conflicts of interest presented by new business.
  • Perform comprehensive research, analysis, and documentation of potential conflicts of interest associated with new business intake.
  • Prepare well-organized and detailed conflict of interest reports and present information directly to Firm partners in a clear, concise manner while highlighting critical issues.
  • Review and evaluate new business intake forms for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable laws, firm policies, and business requirements.
  • Review draft engagement letters and assist with maintaining engagement letter records.
  • Ensure timely and efficient processing of new business requests.
  • Work closely with the Firms Office of the General Counsel, department leadership, and other Intake Compliance team members regarding potential conflicts of interest and other risk and compliance matters.
  • Employ and enforce risk management processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with department management, Office of the General Counsel, and Risk Management team regarding firm-wide training on new business intake and conflicts processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to new business conflicts and intake process, procedure, and technology improvements to enhance efficiency and manage risk.
  • Implement departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Identify and support all customer service needs.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or comparable experience required.
  • 3-5 years of conflicts analyst experience, preferably at a large law firm.
  • Working knowledge of Intapp products preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and organizational skills.
  • A problem-solver with a strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of firm attorneys and staff.
  • Ability to manage change within a dynamic and innovative organization while maintaining a commitment to the Firms core values.
  • Strong interest and ability to learn new technologies as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between:

  • New York City $64,000 - $103,000
  • National $61,000 - 87,000


* California Major Markets includes San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica. All other California locations fall within National range.

This compensation and benefits information is based on Orricks estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
