Position Title: Catering Supervisor - Camp Randall Stadium & Kohl Center Arena

Pay Range : $18.00 to $22.00

Job Summary

Overview: 

The Catering Supervisor is responsible for the overall organization and execution of all catered events across UW facilities. This position will also assist in the Student Athlete Dining program. In this role, you will work closely with the Catering Manager, Catering Sales Manager, Student Athlete Dining Manager, and the Premium Executive Sous Chef. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Setup & Execution : Lead the setup and execution of all catering events. 
  • Event Planning : Follow proper setup protocols, organize seating arrangements, and oversee the final food presentation. 
  • Student Athlete Dining : Oversee meal services and assist with meal service preparation for the Student Athlete Dining program. 
  • Catering Sales : Will assist with catering sales operation using Infor and other resources. 
  • Daily Operations : Organize and maintain catering and storage areas, proactively stock supplies, and ensure cleanliness. Work with the Catering Manager and Sales Manager on Banquest Event Orders. 
  • Team Management : Directly supervise food service associates in accordance with policies and procedures. This includes: assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff; and resolving complaints and problems. 
  • Communication : Communicate with staff information regarding upcoming events they are scheduled for, providing essential details. Communicate with client regarding needs for events. 
  • Quality Assurance : Monitor the overall quality of food and service and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards. Remain present during meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback. 
  • Storage & Sanitation : Store, label, and date food items according to policy; maintain established food rotations to minimize spoilage. Follow HACCP guidelines and company sanitation procedures to ensure the quality and safety of the food supply. Ensure the kitchenette remains clean and hygienic. 
  • Equipment : Operate and clean food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures after each use. 
  • Guest Service : Be attentive to guests' needs and provide excellent service. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Must have previous experience in a food service position. 
  • Must have previous supervisorial experience. 
  • Degree in hospitality management preferred. 
  • Must have a high level of computer literacy.
