We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Teacher who will play a crucial role in maintaining a nurturing and engaging classroom environment. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about education and looking to advance their careers by eventually stepping into a lead teacher role.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will:
\nFoster positive social and emotional growth in students
\nWork collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure smooth classroom operations
\nEngage with parents or guardians to support student development
\nHelp maintain a well-organized, vibrant, and interactive classroom
\nIf a teaching position opens during the school year, the assistant teacher will be the first to step into the classroom role.
\nResponsibilities
\nAssist the lead teacher in planning, supervising, and implementing the curriculum in alignment with Park Maitland’s policies and procedures.
\nStep in as a substitute teacher when needed, ensuring continuity of learning.
\nSupport classroom organization, including contributing to the classroom’s appearance and décor.
\nParticipate actively in school events such as Parent/Student Orientation, Winter Programs, and Open Houses.
\nMaintain and contribute to classroom displays, including student artwork and bulletin boards.
\nUphold a positive, non-punitive approach to classroom management, focusing on positive reinforcement.
\nDemonstrate a strong commitment to the school’s values and ethos, maintaining professionalism at all times.
\nCommunicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
