Position Description Burke's seeks an Assistant to the Athletic Director to support our Upper School athletics program by working closely with the Athletic Director. Responsibilities are for the school year, from August to May. Job Responsibilities include: Assisting the Athletic Director Collaborating to review league schedules and create game schedules for each team Taking over primary responsibilities of the Athletic Director when they are unavailable Coaching one team per season (volleyball, basketball, or soccer) Coordinating team needs and practices, including distributing uniforms and setting up practice equipment Supervising morning practices Communicating with parents/guardians about schedules and carpool needs Using the school's LMS system to update the calendar Organizing parent carpools for away games and competitions We value candidates with the following qualities and qualifications, though not all are prerequisites: Some college education Experience in education, preferably at middle school level Experience in coaching team sports is preferred; interest in learning is required Commitment to equitable and anti-racist teaching practices Modeling lifelong learning Understanding and appreciation of adolescent girls' social-emotional development Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues Flexibility and creativity Growth mindset and openness to feedback Compensation This role offers 12-15 hours per week at $36/hour.
