Role Overview:

SodexoMagic is seeking an Area Executive Chef for University of Illinois Chicago   located in Chicago, Illinois. The Executive Chef will oversee all campus culinary operations, including residential dining, retail and catering services. This is a hands-on role focused on culinary execution and team support, with a strong emphasis on student engagement. This position may require up to 50% travel at times to accounts across Illinois.  Sodexo provides college campuses with food, nutrition, environmental, and facilities management solutions. SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Sodexo. For almost 20 years, we have provided top-level food, facilities management and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges, universities and aviation lounges .

What You'll Do:
  • be hands on cooking within the culinary outlets, training and developing skills
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented.
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations.
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.
