JOB SUMMARY:

Freedom Classical Academy is a K-8 charter school specializing in a unique blend of STEM and classical education. We are seeking a passionate, compassionate, and creative educator who is committed to fostering a nurturing and inspiring learning environment to join us for the 2025-26 school year. We currently have a 2nd grade opening.

WE LOVE OUR TEACHERS! We understand the challenges and stresses that teachers face everyday and we work hard to create an enjoyable working environment for you. This means providing open and inviting classrooms, grade-level or subject area support teams, instructional support, limited meetings, ongoing professional development, established curriculum resources, and much more. As a single-site charter school, we are free of bloated bureaucracy and power structures. You will have direct access to decision-makers and can contribute in a meaningful way to important school decisions.

 

FOUR DAY SCHOOL WEEK. Our school has a four-day school week. Our teachers will work Monday through Thursday with one Friday a month dedicated to professional development and PLC teams. This change has been made with the specific goal of helping our staff have better work/life balance. Stop burning out; join the Freedom Family and make teaching great again!

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Manage student behavior, ensuring respect, cooperation, and adherence to school rules.
• Plan, prepare, and execute daily lessons, assignments, and educational activities.
• Create a stimulating classroom environment that fosters a love of learning and critical thinking.
• Track and analyze student progress, providing timely feedback on academic and behavioral issues.
• Identify students’ individual learning needs and provide extra support or accommodations where necessary.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators regarding student progress, school activities, and concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other documentation.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times, both in and out of the classroom.
• Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to create a cohesive and effective learning environment.
• Participate in student pick-up or drop-off, as assigned.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by school administration, such as supervising extracurricular activities or assisting with school-wide initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Qualified applicants must:

• Have a NV teacher's certificate for Early Childhood (PreK-2) or Elementary Education (K-8).
• Have a willingness to learn and improve.
